Twelve Main Meridians
Meridians are at the core of traditional Chinese medicine. These illustrations introduce the twelve main meridians in three books. Corresponding to the time of day when the various treatments can be used, the book banners differ markedly in their colouring. The illustrations blend Western and Oriental cultural style elements with the aim of communicating knowledge of the meridians as a type of legacy for humankind. The drawings are based on the decorative patterns found on ancient Greek clay pots and murals in combination with ancient Chinese characters.
