The Story of Shen Nong

This packaging design is based on a tale about Shen Nong, in which the wise man tramps the land to taste medicinal herbs. His findings are said to be part of the “Divine Farmer’s Materia Medica”, an ancient Chinese book which has also inspired the design. Based on the classification in the compendium, the gift box contains packages with three kinds of herbal teas each. Lovingly drawn illustrations breathe new life into Shen Nong’s journey. In addition, the outer packaging resembles a pot of traditional medicine and thus demonstrates the healing effect of the ingredients.
