The subject of this animation film is the fear many people have of being different. The protagonist is a small boy who is gradually beginning to understand himself and to accept who he is with the help of the figure of Qian Dan from traditional Taiwanese opera. Qian Dan is a male actor who on the stage plays the role of a woman. The film, which was shot with puppets and uses the stop-motion technique, links an awareness of tradition with the will to change. The sets and costumes, created with a loving attention to detail, breathe life into the setting.
