“Enduring, not ultimate form”: from “Industrieform” to Red Dot (1980 - 1997)
TEABLE
Made from 100% recycled tea stems, TEABLE uses traditional Chinese mortise-and-tenon techniques to modernise and lighten the conventional tea table and redefine its form and experience. The tea stems, which are rich in polyphenols, calm the mind and their structure absorbs odours and formaldehyde, purifying the air.
Typically discarded as waste and causing environmental issues, these tea stems are repurposed in TEABLE. The design aims to revive tea culture through daily use and interactions with the table while enhancing product sustainability. The table and its cushions, both crafted from production waste, use natural materials and are fully recyclable. Manufactured using established techniques like stamping, cutting, and sanding, TEABLE is both high-quality and affordable.
