The Smart Tap water purifier can convert any type of H₂O into drinking water. A single system supplies up to 3,000 people. In the process, around 6.5 million plastic bottles and the release of 536 tonnes of CO₂ per year are avoided, as many transport routes become superfluous. The device is cloud-connected and provides water and consumption data for monitoring, which is stored on an ID chip. “The design is pared down and universal as well as focused on functionality. The Smart Tap integrates into both private facilities and commercial businesses such as hotels,” the jury commented.
