Sewing Chameleon

Back Download

When using a conventional sewing machine, the entire roll of thread must be replaced whenever a different colour thread is needed, making the process time-consuming and repetitive. Furthermore, changing the thread frequently results in the thread becoming entangled in the machine or breaking. To solve this problem, the Sewing Chameleon combines the functions of a printer and a sewing machine, allowing users to change thread colours without changing entire rolls of thread. The machine uses a colour detection sensor to identify the colour of a fabric sample. Upon detecting the colour of the sample, the ink in the cartridge then dyes the thread to that desired colour.
