Contemporary architecture is marked by open kitchens that have often replaced classic space arrangements. The kitchen is defined as the centre of family life, a centre that is open to all sides. This implies a constant challenge for the design of kitchen devices as they have to blend in seamlessly into the existing interior. The built-in oven ranges from the Color Glass series respond to these architectural concepts with an overall purist straightline design paired with innovative user interfaces. All devices are marked by the same clear line design, which allows many possibilities of individual combinations in the kitchen. The high-quality surfaces are held in black to lend the oven ranges an air of premium yet unobtrusive appearance creating an elegant ambiance. The self-explanatory user interface highlights an iconic control ring, which thanks to its sensor technology, the BoschAssist, automatically ensures safe and intuitive operation as well as a high degree of user comfort. State-of-the-art steam and microwave functionality are also integrated. Rounding off the concept, the consistent and highly aesthetic design of these devices is also reflected in their connectability into various combinations that open new possibilities of interaction.
Statement by the Jury
In a fascinating manner, the purist design lends these devices a strong identity. A well-conceived, thoroughly structured interface with a central control ring offers a high level of convenience and an enticing user experience. Designed upon the concept of installation in open kitchens, this series offers many benefits that allow the products to be integrated harmoniously and in many variations in any given environment.
