The Seiko Prospex Speedtimer 1/100 Sec Solar Chronograph SFJ001/SBER001 was designed for high-precision timekeeping, boasting the capability to independently measure and display up to 1/100th of a second. Four drive units have been incorporated to avoid the usual overlapping of time display and measurement sub-dials. These units allow for separate displays of time and minute measurement, as well as measurements at 1/1, 1/10 and 1/100 seconds. The size of each dial is tailored to match the measurement unit, ensuring good legibility and visual clarity.

In the design of the Seiko Prospex Speedtimer 1/100 Sec Solar Chronograph SFJ001/SBER001, the separate dials were arranged to provide a high level of clarity in a small space.
