A particularly form-fitting way of individualising shoe production is represented by SCRY’s still young 3D model. The “Digital Embryo” philosophy combines the digital design of the shoe desired by the consumer directly with step-by-step and variable digital production. It offers an advantage in terms of energy and material without serial minimum quantities and rigid production facilities, eliminates the need for an assembly line and enables the precise use of materials without waste. The shoe uses mainly newly developed polymer materials that are compactly recyclable after use. The well-linked design of process and product convinced the jury.
