Dutch Oven
Royal Dutch Oven
The Royal Dutch Oven is made of cast iron. Its original design language was derived from Yuanbao, the Chinese symbol for good luck. There is a Chinese proverb about the pleasures of good food at the bottom side of the pan. One of the master painters of the Dutch Royal Delft factory designed the décor of the ceramic lid. It shows a peacock motif in Delft blue – also a symbol of happiness and beauty.
Statement by the Jury
Based on a traditional formal vocabulary, the Royal Dutch Oven conveys a highly independent and, at the same time, aesthetic overall appearance.
