What could be more delightful than relaxing in your own outdoor sauna? Many people already have a lounge area or an outdoor kitchen in their garden. Now, an increasing number of them are also looking for a place where they can relax in seclusion. Saunas are the perfect go-to space for peace and quiet, and they have the added advantages of promoting health and strengthening the body’s defences. Whereas indoor saunas are traditionally square, the barrel shape is very popular outdoors because it is cosy-looking, saves space and is visually appealing. Round Cube goes one step further and presents itself, as the name suggests, as a cube with rounded corners. Unlike traditional barrel saunas, which tend to appear closed off, Round Cube is open, spacious and inviting. A large, mirrored window front made of insulated glass panels protects privacy and at the same time provides an unobstructed view of the surrounding panorama. This feature enhances the nature experience, while making the interior appear more spacious and airy. During the day, large windows allow plenty of daylight into the sauna, and at night Round Cube has a beautiful lighting concept. Lamps under the benches – and above and below the backrests – provide indirect lighting that can be brightened or dimmed according to preference. The use of Estonian wood and the meticulous execution and attention to detail were particularly emphasised by the jury in its statement. Thermally treated wood was used for Round Cube to ensure both durability and a lasting aesthetic. The benches are made of aspen wood, and the juniper wood aroma wall exudes a wonderful, natural fragrance in addition to having a salutary effect. Even the temperature distribution facilitated by the rounded shape is good for the body, as there are no extremely hot zones. Round Cube offers a special nature and sauna experience for up to eight people and, as the jury praised, it’s simply beautiful.
