The Railroad Bento Festival gives publicity to the history and culture of Taiwan’s railways, and especially promotes the bento food boxes sold aboard the trains. A new visual identity, which communicates Taiwanese living and travelling customs, aims to strengthen the event character of the festival, which had hitherto remained vague due to a lack of highlights. With the redesign, colour illustrations now present a series of touching stories of railway journeys, while special local specialities, which are served in bento boxes with illustrated banderols, reflect regional preferences.
