Quasar 2 - Bidirectional EV Charger
The proprietary bidirectional technology of Quasar 2 allows a user to charge and discharge their electric vehicle, converting it into an energy storage unit that can replace or supplement a home battery. Use the EV to power the home or to feed energy back into the grid.
When charging, energy from the grid or solar panels is used to power a vehicle, while intelligent scheduling saves money by charging a car during off-peak hours. When discharging, the energy stored in the EV can be used to power the home, even if there is a power outage. Energy costs can be minimised by powering the home from a car during peak hours and reduce grid dependency. Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology can also provide energy discounts.
The app serves as the user’s primary control centre and displays detailed information. The product’s human- machine interface (HMI) has been designed to use a simple yet efficient communicative and interactive solution that provides the user with accurate feedback about the charger and battery states. All of the lighting elements adhere to a standardised colour code, resulting in an efficient communicative dialogue with the EV driver. Designed for simple maintenance, Quasar 2 has a minimal appearance with easily identifiable components.
