This disposable speculum for gynaecological examinations is optimised for patient comfort and for usability by the doctor. The beak of the Orchid Spec features inwardly folded edges, allowing for a larger radius on its outer edges. This reduces friction against vaginal tissue and supports the cervix, thus improving functionality. The uniquely placed parting lines on the beak are seated deep inside to avoid any sharp outer edges. The locking function allows for single-handed operation. The front handle is angled away from the patient, giving the physician better control. The high-gloss white inner surface of the beak reflects the examination light, to provide optimal viewing conditions. In addition, patients regard the white plastic as more professional and calming.
