Nokia Ara

Ara empowers patients who have injured their Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) to recover faster by providing precise and real-time feedback on their activities throughout the day so they can take an active part in their own recovery process. It also allows practitioners to make data-driven decisions and produce rehabilitation plans catered specifically to their patients needs.  The concept consists of three main components: a knee brace to monitor the patient’s injury, an app to communicate not only the status of the injury but also an adaptive therapy plan, and a charging unit. Since patients will be wearing Ara throughout the day, the device was thoughtfully designed to be aesthetically appealing.
