“Ninety-Nine Days” tells a personal story about coping with the experience of being a stranger. The short film begins with a shooting scene. It triggers dream-like sequences with a flood of acoustic and visual stimuli, in which balloons are the guiding elements. The way out of the chaos is finally indicated by a doorway. The symbolic threshold to the outside world can be crossed as soon as the protagonist embraces the unknown. Using simple graphic means, the animation succeeds in expressing complex psychological processes such as anxiety or the feeling of being overwhelmed in a poetic way.
