New Fiat 500

When designing the New Fiat 500, the engineers started with a blank sheet of paper so they could work on every aspect with the utmost attention to detail, and choose the best solutions. Range and charging times are two key issues for customers, so the New Fiat 500 has lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 42kWh – which gives the car a range of up to 320km in the WLTP cycle. To optimise charging time, the car is equipped with an 85kWh fast-charger system. It takes only 5 minutes to build up enough energy to gravel 50km. To make charging even more convenient for drivers at home, the New Fiat 500 has an Easy Wallbox™, a home charging system that can be connected to a normal home outlet without any complicated installation. The simple, accessible ‘plug-and-share’ solution can be managed by Bluetooth too. During the design phase, the Fiat Style Center worked on clean lines and a consistent design language to define the look of this generation: crisp, advanced and compact. The overall design is more sinuous and elegant, shaped around a more proportioned approach to the chassis.
