Since the early 20th century, Montblanc’s handcrafted fountain pens have stood for advanced writing culture. The distinctive emblem crowning each writing instrument is inspired by the Mont Blanc mountain, and signifies highest quality and innovative design. The Montblanc M Collection merges this tradition with the distinctive design language of Marc Newson. Made of black precious resin, the writing instruments feature finely curved lines that flow gently into one another. The Montblanc emblem on the cap, the platinised clip and the even “plateau” on the barrel form a harmonious unity representing a novel design approach. To achieve the even “plateau” on the barrel, the white Montblanc emblem is ultrasonically welded onto the barrel and then milled with a diamond tool to form a flat surface. Establishing a logically fascinating function, the Montblanc M Collection features an innovative cap-closing mechanism: utilising magnetic force, the cap automatically aligns with the Montblanc emblem embedded in the “plateau” of the writing instrument. Comprising Fountain Pen, Rollerball, Ballpoint Pen, ScreenWriter and a new Artfineliner, the collection fascinates with the use of high-quality materials. The gold nib of the fountain pen, for instance, is made of Au585 gold and handcrafted in a process involving over 30 steps. With its design, the Montblanc M Collection embodies a new generation of writing instruments with an enticing elegance – it leads the culture of writing into the future.
