The LOMI multi-dose dry powder inhaler contains 60 separate blister cavities of dry powder medication and is intended for patients with COPD and asthma. The device uses novel mechanisms for storage and piercing of blisters, and comes with a simple dose counter. The cavities are individually indexed, punctured and available to the user for inhalation after opening the lid of the inhaler and pressing the blue lever. Used blister strips are compressed during the indexing process and wound up for storage inside the device. “A pleasant design with a well-thought-out concept and a very simple and clear application,” the jury found.
