LA ESPRESSO

Back Download

The traditional espresso machine is not portable. LA ESPRESSO, which uses the structure of a non-electric espresso machine, integrates all coffeemaking processes from heating, grinding beans, extracting, and frothing into a portable coffeemaker set that simulates the traditional experience of an espresso machine. The components are stacked and combined to complete the coffee making process. To maintain familiarity, a brewing handle imitates the group head, which is such a symbolic part of a traditional espresso machine. When combined with the brewing hand, the shape of the handle gives the user the same sensation as preparing coffee traditionally. A coffee grinder can be combined with the handle to grind coffee beans. To brew, the brewing handle is used to exert force to extract the coffee. Lastly, an exclusive travel storage case protects each component and transforms into a coffee making stand when flipped. Red Dot Award: Design Concept | Concept | Travel
