The KUKA KR FORTEC-2 ultra is the world’s first series-produced robot with a double linking arm that can move and position loads of up to 800 kg with high speed and precision. With its low mass, it achieves an excellent weight-to-load ratio. For long-term operation, it displays high flexural strength and torsional rigidity. The jury was impressed by the fact that the design, with its organically shaped structural elements, gives the robot a lively appearance and visualises performance and mobility. The cladding elements have been deliberately omitted so that each technical component also plays a role in the overall design.
