Conscious living and fresh food are two of the most vital ingredients of the current zeitgeist, says American author Michael Pollan. In his latest book titled “In Defense of Food” he defines the basic rules for a healthy diet, advising his readers to eat fresh food at least twice a day and ideally food grown in one’s own garden. With its sophisticated functionality, this fridge-freezer combination responds to these demands, complementing them with a high degree of convenience and understatement. At the heart of this “freshness centre” lies innovative technology that aims to keep vegetables, fruit, fish and even meat fresh up to three times longer. Another highly consistent design aspect of this appliance concept, alongside convenience and functionality, is its light concept: flush mounted LED lights provide pleasant glare-free illumination – the foodstuffs in the refrigerator are presented as objects for enjoyment.

This fridge-freezer combination designed by Robert Bosch Hausgeräte impressed the jury not only with its generous interior capacity, but also with its ergonomic design. The double doors and the glass shelves arranged at eye-level provide easy access and a clear view of the contents stored inside. Pull-out elements, drawers and a glare-free illumination concept offer a high level of usability completed by many technical details and appliance functions. The high-quality build of this fridge-freezer combination is complemented by the quality of the materials used, resulting in an overall picture of design excellence.
