“Enduring, not ultimate form”: from “Industrieform” to Red Dot (1980 - 1997)
Isle of Reflections
Isle of Reflections is an interactive lighting installation that can only be explored remotely via videotelephony. The real but magical island filled with iridescent lights and colourful reflections is only accessible via Zoom, a popular web-based video communication tool.
Isle of Reflections welcomes visitors from all over the world to a reflective and immersive landscape of colour and light for a poetic moment. Viewers realise they are interacting with a distant physical space in real-time as they observe that the lights and shadows respond immediately to their voice through the screen.
Three live streaming web cameras are strategically placed throughout the box. When the viewer first connects to the provided Zoom link, they see the frontal view of a translucent box illuminating the darkness on their screen. The viewer then explore three different rooms to examine and interact with the contents of the box from different perspectives.
