Husqvarna Nuda 900 R
Motorcycling has a long and exciting history. Motorcycles in the Supermoto category, for instance, emerged from the context of Enduro and Motocross sports. Originally, they were conceived for racing events on smaller circular courses and thus equipped with regular road tyres and a tougher chassis. Later they were developed into motorcycles for use both on- and off-road. The Husqvarna Nuda 900 R was developed as a crossover model between a Supermoto and a naked bike. This unusual merging resulted in a motorcycle that cannot be shoehorned into any specific familiar motorbike category. Inspired by the design of the naked bike, a motorbike that does entirely without any kind of fairing, the Husqvarna Nuda 900 R too features a design idiom that is stripped to the essential. To beholders, the bike with its athletic body conveys a sense of sporting and dynamic tension. This impression flows through the length of the bike and finishes on the aerodynamically tapered tail that mimics the design idiom of a sports bike. At first sight rather unconventional, the bike’s language of form is the result of combining two distinctive mentalities. Boldly intended by its designers, the Husqvarna Nuda 900 R proudly displays the distinctive red and white colours, made famous through the history and race success of the company.
