The interactive exhibition Heart of Iceland at the Thingvellir Visitor Centre near Hakid consists of ten interactive installations. Appealing to all senses, they invite visitors on a journey through the history and nature of the place, which is of special importance for every Icelander. The uniquely designed rock-like panels pay homage to the rich history of the area and serve as a metaphor for the tectonic transitions characteristic of Thingvellir’s landscape. They offer a glimpse into the past and project scenarios for the future development of the landscape, with thought-provoking questions.
