The design of the Elekta Harmony linear accelerator is inspired by the idea of allowing the complexity of advanced cancer treatment technologies to fade into the background in favour of a simplified patient setup process. The concept is oriented towards customer wishes: touchpoints have been reduced to a minimum and positioned so that staff have fewer walking routes and remain in contact with the patient. Key design features also include organically flowing lines and sweeping smooth surfaces that evoke a sense of spaciousness, while sharp edges subtly emphasise the machine’s precision.

The Elekta Harmony linear accelerator combines a high level of technology with a flowing design language that lends it the beauty of a sculpture.
