During the research phase, the design team discovered that a split in the speaker makes sound emulate, while the radiator helps push air through. Factors that are all great for acoustics. The bump on the sub-woofer reflects the geometry of the driver beneath it—a signature design element—and visually indicates how the sound is radiating out. A brushed hairline and grill pattern diverges from its centre, which brings more focus to the woofer, the beating heart of every speaker. Also, a top surface rising over the woofer allows for a decreasing body thickness, thus achieving a slimmer silhouette.
