Chain

Chain is a sitting-or-standing desk inspired by the flexible links in a chainlike structure. It imagines how, in a healthy workplace, the first link always starts with the individual user or employee as a point of creativity and productivity before expanding into more innovative co-working structures. Chain desks are designed to encourage more movement and flexibility in working modes throughout the day. It helps improve productivity, increase energy and minimise bodily pains of each employee. This desk system is more flexible and capable of supporting multi-working functions and purposes. When a group occasion is called, the desks can be arranged in ways that would suit a brainstorming session, an informal meeting or a larger meeting. Its staggered sitting and standing surfaces also motivate people to work together dynamically. In a way, the possibility of connecting individual workers to small units of 2 or more people addresses the challenges of working together and team interactions. Chain desks help facilitate this while retaining the flexibility to support the unpredictable plans and needs of any working space in the future. The desk has been designed to be disassembled into components for more space saving and transportation advantages. Two locking swivel casters enable the desk to be easily wheeled around for easy reconfiguration of any space. To improve the workflow and productivity, Chain desks provide a wide table top space with a built-in device slot for mobile phones or tablets. Under the desk, a hanger for a bag and a headphone stand keeps the clutter off the table top. A universal cup holder is also incorporated into the desk, as well as table top holders for small tools and accessories. A swivelling plate helps store the cup holder under the desk when not in use.
