The aim with the Case IH AF11 Combine harvester was to create an iconic, timeless design that expresses quality and technology. A particular challenge was the redesign of the traditional utilitarian appearance, due to its enormous dimensions and the shallow depth of just 70 mm. By combining elements of car and motorcycle design, a sculptural, voluminous appearance was achieved. Origami-inspired folding techniques and overlapping elements result in a visually appealing, efficient design solution.
