Design of the American Press coffee and tea maker is inspired by the idea of keeping tea or ground coffee separate in a pod, i.e., in their own receptacles, thus keeping the work of cleaning as little as possible. In order to brew the coffee, the pod with the ground coffee is pushed down through the hot water. The clear water thereby becomes the ready-made beverage. Afterwards, the pod can be simply emptied into the rubbish or compost bin.
Statement by the Jury
American Press convinces with its simple and clever idea of integrating a brewing chamber for the solids. The appliance is thus user-friendly and can be cleaned easily.
