Adega Mayor Orionte – A sweet and strong wine for dessert

This packaging design was developed for a new brand of fortified wine. Adega Mayor is a wine cellar in the Alentejo region of Portugal. Sweet and strong, the Orionte wine is intended to be served with dessert. The design concept reflects the night – the appropriate time to drink this wine – while the name blends the words “orient” and “horizon”. The contrast between black and white is the key design element: the black surface represents the horizon of the Alentejo landscape, while the white refers to the full moon and the Milky Way as can be seen on a clear night.
