3D Printed Footwear SCRY

The still young 3D models from SCRY represent a particularly form-fitting way of individualising shoe production. The “Digital Embryo” philosophy combines the digital design of the shoe desired by the consumer directly with the step-by-step and variable digital production. It offers advantages in terms of energy and material use, does not require serial minimum quantities or rigid production facilities, eliminates the need for an assembly line and enables the precise use of materials without waste. The shoe is produced mainly from newly developed polymer materials that are compactly recyclable after use. It was in particular the well-intertwined design of process and product that impressed the jury.
