The optical network unit for ultra-high-speed fibre communication is used to connect outdoor optical fibres to an indoor network. The unit achieves a maximum speed of 10 Gbit/s for uplink and downlink. Regular fins form the surface of the unit. They effectively dissipate heat and foster a distinctive aesthetic that underlines the unit’s strong performance. The display panel with light-emitting diodes is drawn over an edge and is thus visible from multiple sides. The unit can be placed upright or mounted on a wall.
