Standard submission period for Red Dot Award: Design Concept ends 23 March

The jury process of the Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2016 is about to begin. In only a few weeks the jury will be presented with the first round of entries, to make a selection for the final judging. Only entries submitted until 23 March qualify for prejudging. Anyone may participate: design studios, companies, universities, research laboratories, inventors, design students as well as design professionals are asked to submit their entries.

A highly qualified jury panel of recognised international designers, professors, specialised journalists, and publishers maintains quality and maximum fairness oft he judging process. Thanks to their experience and know-how, these experts are also able to assess the cultural characteristics of design. The jury evaluates the submissions through debate in the panel and based on a list of evaluation criteria.

Every jury member pledges to a “Code of Honour” and is excluded from taking part in the competition. In addition, to avoid conflicts of interest, the jurors may not be employees of the manufacturing industry. This ensures the highest degree of objectivity when selecting the winning designs. The Red Dot Award: Design Concept has grown to be the largest and most recognised professional design competition for design concept and prototypes worldwide.
