Red Dot Award: Design Concept celebrates winners on 6 and 7 October
2020 is an extraordinary year we will remember for a very long time. The virtual world is no longer a choice or a domain of the young but has become a survival necessity for everyone today. This year, the Red Dot Award: Design Concept took into consideration all of the ongoing changes and new developments to select winners with ideas that are in tune with the general atmosphere.
The award-winning visions are ground-breaking” explains Red Dot CEO and initiator, Prof. Dr. Peter Zec “they offer solutions to current problems and involve ideas that will simplify or improve our everyday lives and how we interact with each other in the future, as well as the economy and the environment.”
Achievements of this year’s winning design teams and designers will be honoured, and recognised during a two day Online Award Celebration on the 6 & 7 October. The Online Award Celebration will begin with an opening address at 11 a.m. by Prof. Dr. Peter Zec, CEO and initiator of Red Dot, followed by a speech by Mr. Ken Koo, Asia President of Red Dot.
Upon receiving notifications that their works have been awarded, winning design teams were asked to share their winning moments together with their Red Dot Certificates. From 12 noon onwards, celebratory moments of winning design teams and designers filled with glitters and confetti will be presented on the Red Dot website. Honouring Red Dot: Best of the Best recipients with the Red Dot Trophy, the online celebration will continue until the following day with a recap summary of the nominees for this year’s highest accolade at the Red Dot Award: Design Concept competition, the Red Dot: Luminary.
The winner of this year’s highest achievement - the Red Dot: Luminary, will finally be revealed 6 p.m. on the 7th October 2020. The winners’ exhibition of Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2020 at the Red Dot Design Museum Singapore as well as the Online Exhibition will be made available on the same day.
