Learning from nature, designing for life – that is more or less how Logoplaste Innovation Lab’s philosophy could be summarised. Their packaging solutions fuse design and biomimicry to produce user-oriented, sustainable solutions with an impressive aesthetic. “We firmly believe we should urgently stop blindly satisfying human needs and consistently start questioning about the associated environmental costs”, the team’s creatives say.
Interview with Logoplaste Innovation Lab
Red Dot: What were the most important points to consider in designing the ECO 6L reusable bottle?
Logoplaste Innovation Lab: It has a functional and ergonomic design, which allows for the bottle to be stored on any regular-sized European home refrigerator shelf. A perfect combination of the vertical and horizontal position of use ensures the best user experience. Also, the bottle is not only easy to carry, but also offers an easy-to-use dispensing tap and cap. The bottle volume and shape were designed to be refillable at any supermarket filter station. The drop shape is inspired by the brand's logo.
How does the issue of sustainability influence your work in general?
In this project, we were fortunate to work with our partner NWP, whose filtered water brand ECO has sustainability built in all along. NWP is continuously looking for new solutions that address people’s needs while protecting the planet. At Logoplaste Innovation Lab, we take a holistic life-centred approach to packaging solution development that combines user needs, brand value, technical requirements and profitability with environmental sustainability.
