Terra Bean to Bar

Located in an old apartment building in Taipei City, this chocolate store integrates harmoniously with the existing architecture of the residential district. The theme “nature coming indoors” permeates the whole design concept. The use of plants and solid-wood frames, together with floor-to-ceiling glass walling, blurs the boundary between outdoors and indoors, light and wind flow freely through the open-plan rooms. Earth tones dominate the colour of the interior and the furnishings are reminiscent of cocoa fruit. The outside wall is slightly angled and recessed, thus creating a forecourt to encourage the local community to meet.
