As a response to the fundamental change in media consumption caused by digitalisation, the aim of the redesign for SRF was to create a strong news brand with a channel-independent look which meets the various usage needs of the Swiss population. Each format of the new SRF News brand shows news within a certain editorial or geographical context. The new brand visualises this context as a sphere in an abstract form by using the building blocks of the underlying media technologies (pixels, grid points, fractals, radio waves), which are recombined in various broadcast-specific key visuals. The result is a modernised look that evolves from the previous design.
