Retouch

Accurate eyebrows, pale skin, perfect teeth and a slim body with large breasts and curvy hips, the animated film “Retouch” deals critically with this ideal of beauty. It shows the struggle between a female designer and a woman depicted in a drawing, which is supposed to be retouched in accordance with this ideal. The latter, however, refuses to have her body changed until her death: the drawing ends up in a waste paper basket. A new drawing brings the desired result and shows a stereotyped image of a woman. The film does not use language; the music effectively supports the dramaturgy of the story.
