Petcube Bites was conceptualised for monitoring pets at home. During their absence, pet owners can observe their pet, talk to it and provide it with treats. For this purpose, up to 1 kg of chow can be stored in the camera and flung to the pet up to 1.80 metres away when a smartphone command is issued. Another special feature is support for Amazon Alexa and Amazon Dash Replenishment Service, which enables smart devices to automatically reorder products when supplies run low.
