Due to climate change, the number of butterflies in Taiwan, once known as the Butterfly Kingdom for its numerous species, has drastically declined. “Paperfly” aims to raise awareness of environmental protection and ecological conservation among children by encouraging interaction with a set of seven creative and elaborately designed DIY paper products. Information and detailed instructions are provided to allow users to make kinetic butterfly models. The DIY process is designed to raise a person’s interest in the state of butterflies in Taiwan and draw attention to their need for protection.
