Mycenae – The Legendary World of Agamemnon

This exhibition follows in the footsteps of the explorers Heinrich Schliemann and Homer, taking visitors on a journey through time from the 19th century to the ancient Greek city of Mycenae. Adopting a circular design, the tour passes through various experience rooms in which architectural reconstruction and abstract interpretation create a contrasting yet harmonious overall picture. The language of form and the colour scheme of the exhibition’s graphic and architectural design recalls the look of Mycenaean cities and landscapes. Clay tablets of Linear B – the Mycenaean’s own writing system – served as an inspiration for the design of the text hierarchies.
