Rice cultivation in Taiwan produces large amounts of solid waste such as straw, husks and broken rice, most of which is disposed of. For the production of this vinyl flooring, the waste products replace a large part of the plastics usually used in the production of rigid core flooring. This reduces the weight of the flooring, makes it easier to install and, due to the added elasticity of the new composite material, reduces damage to the snap-lock profiles.
