Create Theatre Poster Love and Emotion

Focusing on the themes of love and emotion in the works of William Shakespeare, this poster series begins with the visualisation of the childhood love of Romeo and Juliet, moves through betrayal and despair, and then transforms into the adult love of Antony and Cleopatra. Just as Shakespeare’s plays overflow with strong emotions and forgotten love, the series is an attempt to reconstruct these sentiments through contemporary posters. Since Japanese is a language with different visual imagery than English, the series is bilingual. The design postulates that by using two languages, it is possible to project an image transcending meaning onto the surface of a word in multiple layers.
