Recent Oxford University research on how computerisation affects certain job fields has shown that the majority of white-collar workers, such as accoun­tants or auditors, will lose their jobs by 2024, while those working in the field of arts and design are at less risk to be replaced by automation. Against this backdrop, the online university Skillbox launched a bot that warns of AI taking people’s jobs by sending messages to printers all over the world. It uses the open API of the IOT search engine Shodan.io to find printers connected to the Internet via 9,100 ports. Once an open port is discovered, the message is sent to print.
