Belles from the Tang Dynasty
This interactive pop-up book teaches history while keeping its readers entertained. Its design integrates antiquity and modernity and conveys the culture of the Tang Dynasty using famous women as characters and a wealth of details. Five representative female figures of the era were chosen and turned into modern beauties on a fictitious campus, among which are the tough and ambitious Wu Zetian and the romantic, innocent Yu Xuanji. The main aim of the elaborate, lovingly designed book and cards is to use a modern aesthetic to help people learn about each figure’s key characteristics in a fun way.
