The 3S Escape Descent Device is used to rescue people from high floors in buildings. The rescue device consists of several components: a wire rope coil, safety harnesses, anchor points and the main part, the brake units. With this device, up to six people can escape dangerous situations. According to the jury, “the use of the device” is “simple and intuitive and a good example of effective functionality”. This effectiveness is achieved by the “clear design, which is especially important for rescue devices”, as action must always be taken quickly in such situations.
