Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2016 - Further jurors confirmed
The next jurors for the Red Dot Award: Communication Design 2016 are confirmed: Among others, Holger Windfuhr, Creative Director at the WirtschaftsWoche, will once again support the jury with his know how. Having grown up in the USA, Holger Windfuhr studied psychology at the University of Michigan. Afterwards, he studied graphic design in Munich and completed the Kellogg-WHU Executive MBA program. He started his career as a designer at Focus. Later he switched to the German edition of Forbes. After switching again to entrepreneurship, he worked for Condé Nast and Time Inc. in New York as well as at Gruner+Jahr in Cologne. Since August 2000 he has been working for WirtschaftsWoche. In the course of the years, his cover pictures have won numerous awards.
Also Kelley Cheng from Singapore will be attending the Red Dot jury again. Cheng definitely is a designer with many talents: From magazine editor, to public speaker and art gallery owner, she has ventured into a multitude of roles. But the entity that is most intimate to her is her publishing and design consultancy: The Press Room, a multidisciplinary studio that has designed everything from books, brands, graphics, documentaries to spaces, and even stages and film sets. As an active educator, she serves as adjunct lecturer in visual communications at the Nanyang Technological University and Glasgow School of Art, Singapore, and sits on the advisory board of Singapore Polytechnic School of Design and LaSalle College on the Arts School of Design. In 2009, she was celebrated as one of the “Great Women of Our Time” and in 2010 as one of the “50 Most Inspirational Women in Singapore”.
A new jury member of the Red Dot Award: Communication Design is Jan Wilker. He grew up in Ulm, Germany. Later, he attended Stuttgart University’s architecture school and graduated from the State Academy of Art & Design Stuttgart in communication design. In 2000, he moved to New York and founded the agency karlssonwilker together with Hjalti Karlsson. He has taught design at Cooper Union, SVA, and Parsons. Wilker frequently gives sought-after design workshops around the world. He is a member of AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale) and serves as its Vice President.
