Official launch of China Good Design in Xiamen
A new era of the overall cooperation between Red Dot and the Xiamen Municipal Government began on 20 May 2015, when Professor Dr Peter Zec, founder and president of Red Dot, officially launched the China Good Design Award. “The time is right to establish an independent Chinese design competition that is set up in accordance with international standards. With the China Good Design Award, we guarantee our high level of expertise, integrity and quality”, emphasised the design expert. The award is hosted by the Xiamen Culture Media Group and organised by Red Dot. It is open to all global enterprises and is specifically established to meet the demand of the Chinese consumer market.
The website for the award will be launched in July and the registration phase will start globally on 8 August 2015. All nominated and award-winning products will be displayed and judged by an international jury on site during the “Xiamen International Design Business Week - Red Dot in China 2015”. The fair will be held from 30 October until 2 November at the International Conference and Exhibition Center in Xiamen, China.
Since 2012, Red Dot has been bringing the world of design to the South-Chinese metropolis. This year, about 150 prize-winning objects from the Red Dot Award will be on display. Moreover, dozens of global design agencies and manufacturers will attend the event.
