“Formosa Forms” exhibition opened in Vienna

On 28 April 2015, the exhibition “Formosa Forms - Design trends in technology and lifestyle from Taiwan” was opened at the designforum Wien. After stopping by in the German cities of Essen and Munich, contemporary Taiwanese design developments are now displayed in Austria.

Severin Filek, CEO designaustria, Vito Oražem, Managing Director and Curator Red Dot Design Museum, and Christina Schösser, Regional Director Far East and Oceania at Aussenwirtschaft Austria, welcomed the guests in the exhibition. The representative of Taiwan, Simon Gong, Director Economic Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, also held a welcome speech. Subsequently, the attendants discovered the innovations and exchanged on the latest design developments in the different industries.

Until 24 May 2015, the exhibition, which was commissioned by the Taiwan Design Center, Taipei, showcases about 100 elaborate exhibits which underline both the contrast and the symbiosis of tradition and modernity in Taiwanese design. On show are communication works as well as product designs, all of which were decorated with the Red Dot and/or the Golden Pin Design Award.
